Presidents Week is a great time to escape the cold February weather at home and to sail around the Caribbean onboard SY Pacific Wave. We’re currently available for charter in the beautiful British Virgin Islands and in mid February you can expect temperatures of around 86f with sea temperatures of around 82f and trade winds that are perfect for some great sailing. The islands are looking really green again and Mother Nature has been lending a helping hand to the islands speedy recovery after the summer hurricanes. The bays are empty so if you like deserted anchorage, with great sailing this is the perfect vacation for you. Swimming and snorkeling is fantastic and currently visibility is 50 – 75ft. We have just been snorkeling with a large Spotted Eagle Ray that was circling around Pacific Wave. If you would like to do some Scuba Diving on vacation we can arrange rendezvous dives for you with a small local professional dive shop.

To wet your appetite as to what you can expect on a typical charter starting from St Thomas. We would meet you at the Cyril E King Airport in St Thomas with a cab; it’s only a short 10 minute drive to Yacht Haven Grande Marina on St Thomas where Pacific Wave would be moored to meet you. After a safety briefing we would set sail to the laid back island of St John where we would moor in Francis Bay. Here you can swim with turtles, take a stroll along the beautiful white sandy beach of either Francis Bay or Maho Bay, unpack and relax prior to dinner beneath the stars.

On Norman Island we have a choice of two fantastic anchorages a quiet anchorage with very few boats or anchoring in The Bight with the famous Pirates Bight restaurant and bar. Norman Island is home to the famous Caves where many years ago a pirates treasure stash was found.
